CAROLS WHARF, SCOTLAND ISLAND

GPM Marine Constructions have completed the major refurbishment works at Carols Wharf, the longest public wharf in Pittwater which is predominantly used by commuters for informal boat tie-up. These works include the major refurbishment of the existing deck substructure, as well as decking, installation of a new ferry terminal, ladders and hand railing works.In addition, new pontoons were installed to increase the berthing spaces available at this wharf.
Works have been co-ordinated with the public ferry to minimise impacts to the service.


Blackfellows LakE BOATRAMP, Kalaru

GPM Marine Constructions have completed works at Blackfellows Lake Boat Ramp. As part of the Bega Valley Shire Council’s Maritime Infrastructure Plan, works involved the replacement of the existing gravel boat ramp with a new reinforced concrete boat ramp and a new finger pontoon jetty. Upgrade to the associated civil infrastructure was also carried out,  involving widening and sealing of the access road, additional shoulder parking and car / trailer turnaround points and installation of lighting.

KING ST, LAKE ILLAWARRA JETTY

GPM Marine have completed the major upgrade works to the dilapidated Warrawong King Street Jetty and Viewing Platform located in Lake Illawarra, South of Sydney.

Works include the replacement of timber decking, structural timbers and fixings, installation of new mooring cleats and ladders, replacement of degraded timber piles (complete with pile rings and pile caps) and the complete upgrade of the two skid ramps attached to the viewing platform.

The new Jetty and viewing platform will greatly enhance the Warrawong community’s enjoyment of the lake and be of great benefit to lake users and visitors alike, enabling the community to enjoy this beautiful spot once again.

FAIRY BOWER OCEAN POOL REFURBISHMENT, Manly

GPM Marine have completed the major refurbishment to the Fairy Bower Ocean Pool in Manly. These works include replacement of the existing storm water pipe, The construction of a new storm water pit, Installation of new scuppers to the newly constructed culvert interface and the installation of living seawall concrete tiles to the western side of the culvert. These living seawall tiles were installed to help transform the culvert into an ecologically friendly structure. These tiles provide space, moisture, shade, and water retention needed for survival of marine life.

 Fairy bower is a popular dive sanctuary due to its rich marine life and microhabitat ecosystems; it was important to GPM to work closely with the local council and Sydney Institute of Marine Science to ensure that all potential impacts were identified and carefully managed through appropriate control measures over the duration of construction with minimal impact to the environment.

Overall, the new Storm water outlet system will have a positive impact environmentally on public safety, the local community and will reduce the potential for sand erosion by re-directing storm water to the desired outlet.

LITTLE BEACH BOAT RAMP, NELSON BAY

GPM Marine have completed works for the Little Beach Boat Ramp at Nelson Bay.
Works included the installation of steel piles fitted with HDPE plastic sleeves and precast concrete headstocks , pre-cast concrete Panels, in-situ concrete footings and slab, handrail,  staircase built in mixed materials such as FRP, APR and stainless steel and the installation of selected pink granite rock armour alongside the in-situ area of the boat ramp.
The new ramp will allow better boating access/launching to Little Beach and will benefit not only the local community but tourists during the warmer months.

PORT MACQUARIE WHARF UPGRADE

GPM Marine Constructions have recently completed the major upgrade for the Hastings River Fishermen's Wharf project at Port Macquarie.
Works include a new boardwalk and public wharf, dredging works (to increase accessibility in the area and rock scour protection improvements), mixed piling works with installation of timber and steel piles, the installation of new lighting, landscaping and electrical works .
GPM also completed a new heavy duty unloading jetty which will allow access for ambulances and other emergency services to the area.
These works will greatly benefit the local community by improving the safety and aesthetics of the foreshore wharf structure and provide a magic spot for fishing and recreation.

Riversdale Jetty, Illaroo

GPM Marine have completed the marine works that are part of the multi-million-dollar state-of-the-art Riversdale Masterplan development for Bundanoon Trust. Works will greatly improve site infrastructure with the installation of a new public jetty on Shoalhaven River. 

TENNYSON POINT RD, TENNYSON POINT

GPM have completed construction at a residential property in Tennyson Point.
Works include the construction of new timber jetty, timber stairs and skid ramp.

POINT RD, WOOLWICH

GPM has completed works at a residential property at Point Rd, Woolwich.
Works included the removal of old piles , Installation of new turpentine timber piles, the shaping and painting of the piles and the installation of new rings and slide bars.

BRUCE STEER POOL, BERMAGUI

GPM Marine has completed construction of the new accessibility boardwalk at Bruce Steer Pool. Works included installation of timber piles , disability access ramp completed in non slip FRP mini mesh , and installation of Stainless steel Handrails. The new ramp will allow better access to the netted swimming enclosure on the harbour side of Bermagui and will benefit not only the local community but tourists using this recreational facility.

CARRINGTON BOAT RAMP SEAWALL REMEDIATION

GPM Marine has completed the foreshore remediation works along Carrington beach, Newcastle . Works included the Construction of a 100m sandstone boulder revetment wall , (FRP) Steps for pedestrian access, Bank stabilisation works, Shaping, grading and turfing of the area between the carpark and sandstone revetment wall and the replacement of the storm water system with a new 4.8 m pipe, headwall and wingwall.

Bermagui River Boatramp

GPM Marine Constructions have completed works at Bermagui River Boat Ramp. As part of the Bega Valley Shire Council’s Maritime Infrastructure Plan, works involved the replacement of the existing boat ramp with a new reinforced concrete 3 lane boat ramp, installation of a finger pontoon jetty, New Kayak launch facility, Stainless Steel Fish cleaning tables, Extensive car park and civil works, Solar lighting and a major upgrade to seating facilities and amenities. These new facilities works will greatly benefit the community and promote tourism to the local area .

GPM has completed construction of new timber jetty and new slipway in Mosman - both for domestic use

PORT MACQUARIE CAR FERRY RETRIEVAL

In the aftermath of the recent March 2021 Mid Coast floods, GPM Marine carried out works to retrieve the Settlement Rd Car Ferry at Port Macquarie and assist with the installation of cables.

CLIFTON GARDENS

GPM Marine recently refurbished the critically damaged handrailing at Clifton Gardens requiring urgent repairs to ensure safe usage of the public facility.

BALMORAL BATHS - JETTY UPGRADE

GPM Marine Constructions recently completed Balmoral Bath jetty upgrades, including replacement of dilapidated piles, structural timbers and non-slip decking. New heavy-duty steel piles have been installed to better accommodate vessels berthing at the jetty. New stainless-steel ladders have also been installed to improve the safety of swimmers utilising the U-shaped swimming enclosure.

Booker Bay Wharf Refurbishment

GPM Marine undertook the repair works to Booker Bay Marina. Works included the removal of dilapidated piles and remediation of existing piles.

MCCARRS CREEK

GPM Marine recently undertook the repair works of McCarrs Creek Wharf for Northern Beaches Council. Works included removal and replacement of existing dilapidated timber piles.

Wisemans Ferry AND WEBB’S CREEK Piling works

GPM Marine recently completed the mooring pile replacement at Webb’s Creek and Wisemans Ferry. Works included the replacement of two mooring piles at Webb’s Creek Ferry and one at Wisemans Ferry. The works intend to reinstate these three mooring piles that are used to secure the ferries when the river is in flood. GPM Marine worked in conjunction with Transport for NSW and directly with the ferry operators to minimise disruption to the commuters.”

CURRAWONG EMERGENCY WHARF REPAIRS

GPM Marine Constructions have completed the critical emergency wharf repair works at Currawong Wharf.
Works included replacement of existing piles, substructure timbers, new stairs and decking, and were completed successfully within an environmentally sensitive seagrass environment. GPM Marine was able to schedule works with the ferry service, mitigating disruption to commuters during construction.

LITTLE MANLY TIDAL POOL REBUILD

GPM Marine worked diligently with Northern Beaches Council to reconstruct the dilapidated Little Manly Tidal Pools.
The works have renewed the aesthetics of the tidal pool asset, and included removal and installation of new piles, handrail, timbers and swimming platform decking. New heavy duty ladders and a new protective shark netting around the pool were also installed, increasing the safety of facility users.


BROKEN BAY WHARF REFURBISHMENT

GPM Marine Constructions recently completed refurbishment works for NSW Office of Sport at Broken Bay Wharf, located on the Hawkesbury River. Accessible only by boat and providing access to approx. 650 hectares of unspoilt wilderness, Broken Bay Wharf is a piece of critical infrastructure for the secluded and stunning Hawkesbury River area. Works included replacement of two sets of timber stairs, replacement of all piles, girders, headstocks ,dilapidated timber beams and bolts, as well as brand new decking. These works will greatly benefit the local community by improving the safety and aesthetics of the wharf structure.

TACOMA WHARF

GPM Marine Constructions has completed  the demolition and replacement of the dilapidated Tacoma Wharf in the Wyong River at Tacoma. Works included the full demolition of the existing timber wharf and replacement with a new timber structure in the same location. Additionally, works included repairs to the existing rock revetment wall to prevent scouring of the riverbank adjacent to the wharf.

Gorokan Jetty Demolition

GPM Marine Constructions removed the dilapidated jetty structure in Budgewoi Lake at Gorokan, including dismantling and disposal of all timber decking and structural timber jetty components. Works were conducted in a careful manner to mitigate any impacts to surrounding seagrass areas.

MILSON ISLAND WHARF Refurbishment

GPM Marine Constructions recently completed refurbishment works for NSW Office of Sport at Milson Island Wharf, located on the Hawkesbury River. BEROWRA WATERS FERRY RAMP UPGRADE

GPM Marine Constructions recently undertook rehabilitation of both sides of the existing dilapidated Berowra Ferry launching ramps, which had seen significant cracking and surface erosion by the effect of water scour and long term loading by traffic.

Under the watchful eye of the public, GPM Marine installed both precast and cast-in-situ concrete ramps over the two existing launch ramps. New rip rap rock was also placed on the sides and toe of the boat ramp to mitigate the effects of boat scour on the new ramp.

 In addition to the construction of the new slabs, improvements in the ramp access pavement transitions on both the Bay Road and Berowra Waters Road sides were completed, as well as installation of new gates and guard rails. These improvements will allow for safer ingress and egress for pedestrians and vehicles approaching and using the Berowra Waters ferry.

Through the duration of the works, GPM Marine cooperated with Transport for NSW in ensuring minimal impact to the community, with signage established to redirect vehicular traffic and a water taxi provided for pedestrian access across Berowra Waters.

Works were successfully completed on time and within budget.

Laurieton Unloading Wharf Replacement

GPM has completed works for the new wharf in Laurieton. The Process began with the demolition of the existing jetty, was then replaced with a new wharf, a new dining area and a heavy duty unloading wharf. This project will have a positive impact on the community and will significantly improve the marine infrastructure in Laurieton

Rodd Point Seawall Upgrade

GPM Marine Constructions has successfully completed the shoreline upgrade to renew the existing sloped sandstone seawalls at Rodd Point, Iron Cove. Located on the popular “Bay Run”, the works were highly visible to the public. GPM worked diligently with Canada Bay Council to ensure there were minimal effects to vehicular and pedestrian/bike traffic adjacent to the works site. Throughout the project, GPM Marine managed environmental risks associated with working near sensitive mangrove and seagrass environments. Exclusion zones were set up and silt curtains were utilised to mitigate turbidity effects on the adjacent waters. The completed works will enhance the Bay Run for the local community, protect the foreshore and improve the natural environment. The project works included replenishment of scour protection rock armour and repair of existing sandstone block walls. Landscape improvements were also completed, including mass planting of native vegetation and grasses.

BROOKLYN SALVAGE- 50 FT HISTORICAL CRUISER ‘‘NEMESIS’’

GPM Marine recently undertook the salvage project of the 50ft historical cruiser ‘‘ Nemesis’’ which sunk within the Brooklyn Marina located in the Hawkesbury River north of Sydney.

Hawkesbury River Sunken Yacht Salvage

GPM was contracted to salvage a Yacht wrecked in recent storms. The vessels were extracted to the GPM Barge and were then dismantled and lawfully disposed of.

Brooklyn Onshore Yacht Salvage

GPM were contracted to salvage private vessels wrecked in recent storms. Vessels were extracted to the GPM Barge and were then dismantled and lawfully disposed of.

Coolawin Road Domestic Pontoon

GPM has replaced a fibreglass pontoon at Coolawin Road, Northbridge. The Damaged Pontoon has been salvaged and disposed of, with he new pontoon now in position, along with new timber piles. However, there is still a possibility of adding a Mooring Pen, which will further increase the usability of the facility.

Milson Park Boat Ramp Grout Mattress

GPM has placed an engineered grout mattress solution for the North Sydney Council to allow boat users to safely and easily cross over the rock scour protection

Lee Wharf A - Wharf Upgrade

GPM has completed the upgrade to the heritage listed Lee Wharf A. This upgrade involved Dredging and the addition of steel piles with scour protection underneath. Moreover, extensive structural repairs were made to the wharf to improve its longevity and we also constructed a new timber deck with lighting and stainless steel balustrades.

Commercial Steps Refurbishment - Newcastle Harbour

GPM has completed partial demolition of the old Commercial Steps and piling to support new timber substructure including new stairs

Skiway Park Promenade Renewal

Demolition of the concrete promenade damaged by 2016 storms is complete at Skiway Park Oak Flats followed by piling and construction of a new FRP deck promenade & kayak launch.

Newcastle Maritime Centre Repairs & Piling Works

GPM has completed Newcastle Harbour Maritime Centre Repairs & Piling Works which involved dredging the seabed to design level using GPS and the installation of new sleeved steel piles at the Maritime Centre to allow for construction of a new wharf

North Narrabeen Ocean Pool Boardwalk Upgrade

GPM completed demolition and reconstruction of the new timber boardwalk servicing the iconic North Narrabeen Ocean Pool. Construction included fabrication of a removable bridge for pool cleaning access through the boardwalk and fabrication of Stainless Steel 316 mirror polished safety ladders.

Newcastle Maritime Centre - Timber Pile Repairs

Major repairs are now complete on timber piles supporting the heritage listed Maritime Centre in the heart of Newcastle Harbour. A combination of specialised grout and epoxy wraps were used to preserve worn piles.

Beauty Point Boat ramp Upgrade

Access to Wallaga Lake via Beauty Point boat ramp is now a much easier and safer experience for locals and visitors. GPM demolished the previous ramp and replaced with precast concrete panels dual lane boat ramp. Extensive civil works were carried out to the car park and access roads to ensure adequate parking and a streamlined approach to launch and retrieve vessels.

Coffs Harbour Marina - Repairs

After recent storms impacting functionality and safety of the public pontoon and some fishermen moorings in the Coffs Harbour Marina, GPM worked closely with stakeholders to carry out the repairs with minimal impact to the public and commercial fishing activities.

Tuncurry - Point Rd Moorings Upgrade 

GPM has completed fabrication and installation of 16 new timber jetties with FRP decking as part of the major Tuncurry Point Road moorings upgrade.

Wallis Lake Fishing Co-op Wharf Upgrade

Demolition has been completed on the Wallis Lake Fishing Co-op wharf in Tuncurry and construction complete of new timber wharf, dining area and fishing platform to please locals and visitors

Waterline Boathouse - Piling

Demolition of existing timber piles is complete and piling now completed at Waterline Boathouse main wharf in preparation for construction of a new floating pontoon.

PARSLEY BAY BRIDGE

The Parsley Bay bridge involved the anchoring and concrete encasement of new lateral suspension wires, the safe removal of lead paint, the removal and replacement of all corroded metal structural components and fixings, the replacement of the timber bridge decking boards and the preparation and installation of new surface painting to the entire bridge. GPM completed the works in stages from an encased suspended working platform that moved below the bridge from one end to the other allowing our staff to work safely at all times.

AmAroo Cruises Wharf

Construction of new timber wharf is complete and Amaroo Cruises is back open for business in time for the busy Christmas holiday period.

MORRISON BAY SEAWALL

Funded By Ryde City Council. This GPM project included the removal of the existing failing 300Lm of stone seawall and replaced it with approximately 7000 sandstone logs side-by-side on a basalt sub-base footing with sandstone rock amour. The construction period was six months and included the supply and installation of approximately 7000 sandstone logs, 1000 tonnes of basalt, salt marsh conservation and replanting, detailed civil hydraulic works, path works, kerb and gutter works and landscaping.

Narrabeen LAgoon Clearance 2018

GPM has completed the clearing of excess sand deposits from Narrabeen Lagoon entrance. The removed material was used for much needed beach replenishment on Collaroy beach.

HArbour Square Piling Works - Newcastle

GPM has completed piling works including the installation of new sleeved steel piles at Harbour Square as part of a major extension to an existing floating pontoon system

Harbour Square - Pile Repairs

GPM has successfully completed emergency pile repair works in the Port of Newcastle where an existing pontoon pile required re-driving and extending

Brooklyn Police Wharf - Security Gate

GPM was engaged by NSW Police to dredge the footprint of Brooklyn Police Wharf to allow easier and safer access for Police vessels

Brooklyn Police Wharf Upgrade 

Demolition and replacement of Brooklyn Police Wharf is now complete including aluminium gangway, service pedestal and intelligent solar lighting providing a safer and functional berthing facility for Brooklyn Police operations.

Manning Road Sackville - Boat Ramp & Embankment Stabilisation 

GPM has completed construction of a new boat ramp and extensive embankment stabilisation at North Sackville. A combination of precast panels and insitu concrete was used to construct the new boat ramp.

Lodge Road Cremorne - Seawall

Works are now complete at the Lodge Road site with GPM installing sheet piling to allow for the construction of a new sandstone seawall and concrete easement with sandstone clad

Lyne Park Rosebay - Seawall

Installation of a coffer dam using GPM sheet piles were installed by GPM to allow construction access for our stonemasons to construct Lyne Park Seawall Stage 4

Dumaresq Reserve Rosebay

Another quality work completed by GPM. The construction involved the removal of the existing failed wall, the installation of a deep footing beam which was below sea level and required constant water pumping to maintain a dry working area, the installation of a new sandstone log seawall with concrete backing and stainless steel dowels through the capping stones, backfill and turf installation.

Iluka Yamba - Spenser Street Boat ramp

Demolition of old timber jetty is now complete and new floating pontoon system has been installed allowing safer and more convenient access to vessels.

Iluka Yamba - Golding Street Boat ramp Upgrade

The new floating pontoon has been installed along side existing boat ramp featuring a new timber fish cleaning deck with fish cleaning table.

The addition of overhead solar lights will make early morning launches safer and more enjoyable for visitors & the local community.

Iluka Yamba - HickEy Island Pontoon

GPM Constructions has completed a major upgrade of Hickey Island boat ramp for Clarence Valley Shire Council. Works involved installation of new articulated pontoons, which rest on underlying concrete slabs at low tide. A welcome upgrade for a more safe & enjoyable boating experience for visitors & the local community.

Dangar Island - Public Wharf

Design & Construct of the Dangar Island Wharf upgrade is now complete with minimal disruption to the active marine community of Dangar Island.

Featuring an impressive concrete deck pontoon with two concrete temporary berthing pontoons allows for safer and more comfortable access to and from the island for the community and visitors.

Iluka Yamba - Witonga Pontoon Upgrade

GPM has completed the replacement of the severely dilapidated floating concrete pontoon at Witonga. This challenging project involved GPM to integrate the new concrete pontoon system with existing timber piles and existing aluminium gangway. The project was completed with minimum impact to the community and is open for much safer public use.

Rocks Ferry Reserve Boat ramp Upgrade

The Design & Construct of a new floating pontoon for Rocks Ferry Reserve on the Hastings River Wauchope for Port Macquarie-Hastings Council is now complete. It was identified by members of the Wauchope community that Rocks Ferry would greatly benefit from better waterway access by way of pontoon to suit the needs of the community.

Cooper Park Embankment Stabilisation

After a catastrophic  failure of the Embankment and walkways at Cooper Park Woollahra GPM were contracted to stabilise two embankments with a series of Gabion fill baskets, Reno mattress and sandstone block walls. GPM imported tonnes of basalt and sandstone to stabilise this embankment within a tight construction time frame to ensure no further embankment failures occurred. The main construction restraint on this project was access, all materials had to be brought in by either a series of conveyor belts or a custom made chute.  

The Spit East - Erosion Protection

Appointed by Mosman Council, GPM completed the reconstruction of the seawalls and foreshore at Middle Harbour, Mosman.

The project included the supply and installation of new diamond cut sandstone walls and bleaches, precast concrete footings and stairs, the renewal of the existing drainage and the supply and installation of a new timber boat ramp.

The contract Construction period was 3 months however GPM completed the works within 10weeks
